Non-alcoholic vermouth
The name "vermouth" comes from the German word "Wermut", or wormwood, another name for the plant absinthe sage (artemisia absinthium). Around the 16th century, the Italian D'Alessio created a distillation wine with absinthe, complemented by other botanical ingredients. In the mid-17th century, the drink was sold in England under the name "vermouth," and that name is still used today. Although vermouth was originally used for medicinal purposes, it became known to the general public as an aperitif. Today vermouth is also a popular ingredient for various cocktails, such as the Negroni, the Martini and the Manhattan. Vermouth without alcohol
Vermouth is a distilled grape wine flavoured with various plant ingredients (flowers, seeds, herbs and spices). After the drink has been flavoured and distilled, it is sweetened with cane sugar or caramelized sugar. Most non-alcoholic vermouth contain exactly the same basic ingredients as classic vermouth. The difference is that the ingredients are not fermented, so there is no (or hardly any) alcohol in them. Vermouth without alcohol can be drunk in the same ways as classic vermouth!
